Sports Economics forum to conclude

Manama : The Scientific Research Forum in Sports Economics will come to a close today with three key sessions at Wyndham Grand Hotel at Bahrain Bay, in Manama.

The event is organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and is part of the Nasser bin Hamad Scientific Research Award in the field of sports, launched in 2012 by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.

Leading sports experts from around the Arab world are attending this frist-of- its-kind three-day forum, which aims to find investment sources in sports in general, in addition to investing in sports facilities and initiate real estate development to attract world-class championships. Finding new talents and identifying certain challenges, such as marketing value, privatization of objectives through cooperation with the private sector are among other key objectives of this gathering.

Today, final sessions are scheduled to commence at 9am, when Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy Director General, Knowledge and Human Development Authority Dr Ahmed bin Saad Al Sharif of the UAE presents his key notes on the influence of sport on international economics income.

Late on, Dr Wesam Al Shaikhli of Iraq and Dr Ammar Al Rifai of Saudi Arabia will deliver the final presentation.
