Tournament for innovation in artificial intelligence launched

Manama : HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), has launched, for first time in the Middle East, a tournament for students about innovating in the field of Artificial Intelligence, under the slogan of #Let_us_innovate_future.

The tournament will be organized by Bahrain Polytechnic, in partnership with Microsoft Company and HHSK Media Office, as one of initiatives aimed at supporting students in the scientific field under the theme “Khalid bin Hamad Tournament of Innovation in Artificial Intelligence.” 

The initiative aims to qualify students to use technology tools and applications in serving community and meeting the labour market needs as part of Bahrain Vision 2030. 

It aims also to attract global companies to invest in Bahrain and honing students’ scientific skills and knowhow alongside their academic study, in addition to opening new businesses and companies. 

Workshops will be organized by Technology Experts from Microsoft. The winner of Best Idea Award will represent Bahrain at the USA Tournament, in addition to a cash reward.

The top three schools and universities will be awarded BD1500, BD1000 and BD500, respectively.

Twenty students will have the chance to be trained under the program of “My Chance” to get Microsoft Professional Certificates (Cloud Computing – Web App Builder), and one of the teams will get the chance of attending the first training of Flat6Labs of leading business.
