Kids celebrate free-kick soccer competition

Manama : Kids enjoyed an array of free-kick soccer competition on the second day of the First Bahrain Baby Olympics, being organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

Hundreds of youngsters, aged from 4 to 5 years, were engaged in a two-hour free-kick contests at the Bahrain Sports Federation for People with Disabilities Hall, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

Coming from different schools across Bahrain, the kids had challenging moments as they tipped against each other in one of the largest sporting events for babies.

Each contestant had five shooting attempts while being guided by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and BOC.

At the end of the competition, all the participants were presented with commemorative bronze medals from organizing committee chairman Lounes Madene and Public Relations manager Mohammed Al Beloshi.

The participants then posed with their families for a round of photo sessions on this memorable occasion.

The event, which continues until May 10, features four sports in total – athletics, gymnastics, basketball and football and is open to 3 to 5 years old babies in an attempt to promote sports as a way of life within the community at a very young age.

It is being held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa,
