Premier instructs to ensure quality of medicines
Manama : The Premier has instructed the Ministry of Health to exercise caution while purchasing medicines both from the local as well as international market.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued the directive while chairing the Cabinet session at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. The Premier stressed the need to take quality into account while purchasing medicines and to tighten control and monitoring on medicine purchases to verify their effectiveness and safe use, within the frameworks set by the World Health Organisation, reported BNA.
“The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Health to coordinate with the Supreme Council of Health, represented by the National Committee for the Unified Purchase of Drugs and the National Health Regulatory Authority.”
Among other things, the Premier also emphasised the importance of events like Gateway Gulf to attract investments into the Kingdom.
