Club distributes food boxes
Manama : As part of Ramadan initiative, Rotary Club of Sulmaniya has begun its food box drive by distributing food boxes to various families in the kingdom.
The distribution began at Ma’ameer village and later the volunteers would cover Saar, Hamad Town, Juffair and other neighbouring villages. Out of the total 550 boxes meant for distribution, 35 has been delivered to families. Each box has basic food items such as cooking oil, flour, salt and sugar.
Adding attraction to the drive, a Rotarian Tomas from Lithuania also joined the volunteers. “The overall donation stood at BD7,000 with Alosra supermarket partially covering the cost for this noble cause. The distribution is made before Ramadan so that we could help the families during the fasting month,” a club representative said.
