Man, woman arrested for illegal liquor trade
Manama : Two Asians have been arrested for allegedly selling liquor illegally in Sitra, according to Interior Ministry sources. The Directorate General of Police of the Capital Governorate yesterday revealed that police arrested a man and a woman suspected of
possessing and selling alcohol in a food store in Sitra area after receiving a tip-off.
“As soon as information was received that the two had sold these items, the search and investigation were conducted by a team of policemen,” the directorate said. It added that the investigation led to the identification and arrest of two Asians. Bottles of alcohol were also seized from them, the directorate said.
“Legal proceedings have been taken against the accused and the case have been referred to Public Prosecution.” The Interior Ministry has stepped up action against illegal alcohol trade following complaints from various parts of the Kingdom.
