President of CSB gives new instructions clarifying compensations and flight tickets for employees on official assignments, training or study courses outside the kingdom.
President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Zayed issued civil service instructions clarifying compensations and flight tickets for employees on official assignments, training or study courses outside the kingdom. Director of Wages and Benefits Directorate Yousif Ahmed Mohamed said that these instructions provide the determination of compensation for the employee starting from the day of departure according to the category of travel compensation. Instructions provisions cover days of return, taking into account the expenses incurred by the employee for reasons beyond his control such as the absence of suitable trips for return or any other reasons given by the employee and approved by the CSB, where he is granted full daily travel compensation for these days. In addition, during the time of mission, employees on official assignments, training or study courses outside the Kingdom are entitled to the basic salary and the allowances due to them. He pointed that after the approval of the CSB, government entities may bear the cost of providing accommodation for employees on official duties abroad, but with reduced daily travel allowance if the cost of housing exceeds 70 per cent of the total travel compensation due to the employee provided that no other alternative is available. Acceptable reasons for covering such costs include high cost of accommodation in some areas due to seasonal rate changes, security conditions, employee’s commitment to stay at an accommodation specified by organisers, or due to employee’s participation and commitment with an official delegation, which has specified a certain accommodation.
