BD 2.4 million invested on the 'Cities and Village Development' project

Under the Cities and Villages Development Project, the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning has completed the renovation of 2,690 houses this year, it emerged. Ministry Undersecretary Dr Nabil Mohammed Abu Al Fateh said the ministry has also signed contracts to complete the renovation and maintenance of 135 houses belonging to low-income families. The number of completed houses is expected to exceed 2,900 by the end of this year. He explained that the project aimed at the development of cities and villages while improving the lives of low-income families. “The budget allocated for the project is BD2.4 million for the financial year 2018-2019.” “The ministry has been able to achieve important milestones in this project. Restoration of 2,900 houses to raise the standard of living of some families is particularly important in a community as closely as the Bahraini community,” he explained.
