Ten women set to contest upcoming elections
Women power is unstoppable! It’s growing. Ten women have announced their intention to run for the upcoming elections to parliament and municipal councils.
The current House of Representatives has three women members - Jamila Al Sammak, Ruaa Al Hayiki and Fatima Al Asfoor. Both Ruaa and Jamila have announced their plans for the re-run to the floor of democracy. Ruaa will be running from the seventh constituency in the Southern Governorate. Last time, she had contested from the sixth constituency in the Northern Governorate.
Jamila said she decided to contest from the 12th constituency in the Northern Governorate following pressure from the part of her supporters.
