3 Boys got arrested for stealing money from mosque donation boxes
Three boys were arrested for stealing money from donation boxes placed inside a mosque in Hidd, the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate said yesterday. Earlier, a video had gone viral on social media networks showing the boys barging inside the mosque and stealing money in broad daylight.
The surveillance cameras installed inside the mosque showed them removing the cover of donation boxes and stealing money before fleeing the scene.
The footage raised a nationwide controversy, as many called for forgiving the boys, considering the merciful spirit of Eid and assuming that they’re needy, while others demanded to name and shame them so that such incidents wouldn’t repeat in Bahrain.
