Bahrain’s heritage in spotlight!

Young professionals, representing 30 countries, will take part in a special international forum that begins here today to discuss world heritage and the modern means to protect and preserve it.
Held at Bahrain National Museum, the World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2018 will conclude on June 26, focusing on significant sides of the Bahraini cultural heritage.
Under the theme of “Protecting Heritage in an ever changing World”, the nine-day forum will study one of Bahrain’s two world heritage sites, “Pearling, Testimony of an Island Economy”, located on the southwestern parts of Muharraq Island.
Elaborating more on the event, Architect and Art Historian Dr Lucía Gómez-Robles, told Tribune that the annual event is organised by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca), in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) World Heritage Centre.
