Egyptian welterweight Amir praises Bahrain’s MMA initiative in Africa
Ahmed Amir, the Egyptian welterweight sensation praised the initiative by the Kingdom of Bahrain to host Brave 14 in Morocco. The event will be hosted on 18th August in Tangier.
The event marks the first time a global promotion is hosting an MMA event in the continent of Africa. Amir pointed out that before Brave Combat Federation, other global promotions had least focused on fighters from Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa.
Amir is the first fighter from the Middle East to train in SBG Ireland under head coach John Kavanagh. Amir had competed in four of the events of Brave Combat Federation and had won in three of them. He had announced that he is back into training and is willing to compete soon.
However, tentative dates to compete have not been announced. “The initiative threw light upon the world class talent in the continent of Africa.
Such projects with vision, brought athletes from around the world to the forefront of global MMA. Hosting an event in Africa will amplify the results.
I hope more promotions and organisations will follow the footsteps of Brave Combat Federation into Africa.” said Amir.
