Embassy denies visa ban on Pakistan nationals
Reports that a ban was put in place on issuing and renewing visas of Pakistan nationals were denied by the Pakistan Embassy yesterday. No ban has been enforced on Pakistan nationals by the Bahrain government, Charge d’affaires Murad Wazir told The Tribune.
“Reports on Pakistan nationals being banned are untrue. We are aware of reports that have made such claims but these are inaccurate. We know of many Pakistanis who were able to enter Bahrain in the past two days, this alone disproves these reports,” the official told Tribune.
“I had a meeting with the senior most official at the foreign office of the immigration and they have denied this as well. They did not give us anything in writing yet but I have requested them to do so soon,” he said. The official also rubbished reports that 50 forged passports were issued to Pakistan nationals in Bahrain.
