Bahrain keen to expand ties with UN agencies

Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Al Mutawa held a meeting with the United Nations (UN) Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of Bahrain’s preparations to take part in the high-level political forum on sustainable development, to be held by the UN Economic and Social Council.

The minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness on expanding the scope of cooperation with the United Nations and different UN agencies and specialised programmes.

 He commended the advanced cooperation between the Kingdom and the United Nations, stressing the importance of bolstering international cooperation to achieve development goals and maintain peace and stability in the world.

He underlined Bahrain’s preparations to submit the first national optional report on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030).
