BD1m compensation lawsuit against Works Ministry rejected

The High Administrative Court rejected a lawsuit filed by a local company demanding a payout of BD one million from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

This came after the latter terminated the contract over allegations that the company failed to start the project to set up shops on a previously agreed date.

“We signed an agreement with the Ministry of Works to set up shops. However, the defendant did not fulfill its contractual obligations and did not enable us to benefit from the project. And this has caused severe material and moral damages to the company. Thus, we decided to file a lawsuit to demand nullification of the negative decision taken by the Ministry of Works to refrain from issuing building permits and to renew the lease contract,” the company wrote in its complaint.
