Freed drug sellers return to prison

Two Bahraini men, who were released recently from jail, are set to spend more time in prison after they were held guilty before the High Criminal Court in a drug case.

Aged 32 and 36, the duo were already imprisoned for the same reason, but, apparently, their time in prison didn’t align their behaviour.

According to court files, the 32-yearold resumed his activities in selling drugs as soon as he was freed. The police after receiving a tip-off tasked an undercover officer to arrest the culprits red-handed.

The officer is said to have lured him into selling BD150 worth of shabu, and they agreed to meet behind a hotel in Juffair.

Both of the defendants were tried before the High Criminal Court which sentenced the first defendant (the 32-yearold man) to five years behind bars along with BD500 worth of fine for selling shabu.
