Court rejects GCC man’s pension case
A GCC man, whose social contributions weren’t carried forward to his hometown despite retiring, has had his lawsuit rejected by the High Administrative Court.
The plaintiff, in his sixties, was serving in Bahrain from 2001 until 2017, and was paying his social contributions as per the employment regulations in the GCC. However, he found that the Social Insurance Organisation didn’t pay his social insurance to the competent authorities in his hometown, leaving him without pensions.
He requested the court to order the Social Insurance Organisation to compensate him BD5500 and summon up an expert to estimate the damage inflicted on him because of the Social Insurance Organisation’s failure to carry forward the amounts he paid in the form of social insurance to his country. The High Administrative Court decided to reject the plaintiff’s case.
