e-Commerce under govt scanner
A new law to regulate the growing volume of e-commerce transactions is on the anvil in the Kingdom, it was announced. The move, according to a top Industry ministry official, forms part of an effort to boost the economy and Kingdom’s position in the global arena.
Director of e-commerce and information technology at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zuhair Albahrani, said the law aims to support the growth of electronic commerce and protect users and increase their confidence in the Kingdom.
