Distressed father’s pleas answered, half blind son to undergo surgery

A Bahraini man who recently pleaded for financial assistance to take his son to India to undergo a crucial eye surgery travelled yesterday after collecting the necessary amount from donors.

As reported earlier in Tribune, Mohammed Ali’s six-year-old son Khalid suffers from partial visual impairment incurred while playing with another kid around three years ago.

As per doctors’ instructions here and in India, the boy must undergo a crucial corneal implantation operation to save his eyes, which were severely damaged by pebbles thrown at him by another child while both kids were playing in 2015.

Despite undergoing several surgeries in both countries throughout the past three years, the hit caused permanent visual disability to the boy’s right eye and is gradually affecting the second one as confirmed by doctors.
