Sitra rioters sentenced
Thirty masked men attempted to attack police officers stationed close to the Sitra Police Station by hurling firebombs at them, the court heard. Twelve men, including a young boy, have been identified in connection with the attack, but only three of them were arrested.
The detainees confirmed to prosecutors that they had taken part in the assault along with other nine men, charged with attacking police officers with firebombs.
They were tried before the High Criminal Court, which sentenced the four convicts to three years behind bars, while the remaining men were given two years in prison.
