BD20,000 guarantee to lift travel ban on child

The Lower Sharia Court issued an urgent order to remove the travel ban imposed on a Bahraini child, provided his mother deposits a property ownership certificate worth more than BD20,000 with the court treasury as a pre-condition of his return.

The child has been denied travel permission based on the request of his Bahraini father who is afraid that his Arab wife would leave the country permanently.  However, the Lower Sharia Court ruled out that the mother had such an intention. She is said to have been wanting to travel to visit her family with him and hence she filed a lawsuit to have the travel ban removed.
