Woman granted divorce from hubby who put her in legal trap
A husband deserted his wife after getting her implicated in several dud cheque cases, the court heard. According to court documents, the husband left Bahrain two years ago after he trapped his wife, leaving her to face a dark future.
He is said to have not contacted her since leaving the Kingdom as his whereabouts remain a secret. Left with no other option, the woman filed a divorce lawsuit at the Sharia Court, which accepted her request yesterday. “My client’s husband is a Bahraini of Asian origin.
He travelled outside Bahrain after he got embroiled in dud cheque cases and other civil cases. He left her without a pocket money,” the woman’s lawyer Huda Sa’ad said.
“My client inquired at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs about his status, and she was told that he had travelled outside Bahrain and didn’t return,” the lawyer said.
The Sharia Court granted divorce to the woman from her husband.
