90pc reports on Al Jazeera.net support terrorism in Bahrain
Manama : Over 90 per cent of reports published by Al Jazeera.net on Bahrain were in support of terrorism in the country, according to British Society for Middle Eastern Studies. A research done by the society headed by Amjad Taha revealed that only a small percentage of the reports on Bahrain published by the Qatari news outlet were official news, while a vast majority were propaganda material supporting terrorism in Bahrain. He said that the findings follows a long term research his organization undertook.
“We did the research especially on Al Jazeera we found all of this manually. It is as accurate as possible and anyone can double check it, it is verifiable. We mainly focused on the Arabic site,” Taha told Tribune. “The research was not too difficult to do because we have always been monitoring all the media reports published in Gulf States, we just had to have a record of everything,” he said. He added that only 9.8 per cent of the reports published were actual formal news - news from the Bahrain government. “We found that 90.2pc of the news published on Al Jazeera. net was against Bahrain and in support of terrorism. The reports speak about Bahrain in every negative way possible.”
