Updated treatment protocol for multiple sclerosis ‘years away’
Despite making a key discovery on the characteristics of multiple sclerosis by Bahrain-based researchers, the chances of conceiving an improved treatment plan is still a few years away.
A team of medical researchers from Princess Al Jawhara Centre, made a key discovery about the local characteristic of the disease last year, however, there is still a long way to go before an updated treatment plan can be devised, one of the senior researchers said.
Director of the Princess Al Jawhara Center for Molecular Medicine Moiz Bakhiet told Tribune that the discovery is an important one because of it provides essential and specific information on characteristic of the disease as prevalent in Bahrain.
