Bangladeshi men nabbed running gambling joint
Five Bangladeshi men converted a Muharraq house into a gambling joint, the court heard.
Aged between 33 and 54, the defendants managed the place illegally and were inviting others to come and gamble their money, according to court files.
Their activities were exposed after the police received a tip-off. An undercover agent was tasked to keep a tab on the house. And it was found that many people were visiting it at different times daily, starting from 10:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
Investigations revealed that one of the five would visit the house every day to collect his share from the profits made. Police officers raided the house and four men were arrested while they were playing cards with bundles of money kept in front of each one of them.
