Firm ordered to pay employee BD4,959
An employee, whose contract was unfairly terminated, has been ordered to be compensated with BD4,959 by the High Labour Court.
The plaintiff served in the company for 10 years between 2007 and 2017 on a basic salary of BD559.
However, he was dismissed on the pretext of carrying out immoral acts within the company. He was accused by his employers of attacking his manger as well.
After reviewing the case, the High Labour Court described the incident between the fired employee and his manager as a simple altercation rather than an assault, the term used by the company to justify the termination of the contract.
As a result, the court decided to consider the dismissal as wrongful, imposing an amount of BD4,400 in compensation for losing his job in an unfair manner.
