Man stuffed goats in a car trunk!

Manama : Animal lovers in the Kingdom were shocked, saddened and outraged at the disturbing images, which showed a man transporting goats in the closed trunk of his car. The shocking image, posted on the BSPCA page, showed a man forcing down a goat before transporting it in a closed car trunk. According to an eyewitness, two goats were transported by the man in the closed trunk of the car.

“I saw this in Manama just now, two goats being transported in the back of a closed car trunk. Is this not haram to suffocate and scare the animal before slaughter?” “Please everybody, if you must perform slaughter for Eid can you please take care of the animals and transport them in a Halal and humane way! “They have hearts, minds and can feel pain too,” said Alma, who spotted the goats in the boot of a car. The act of cruelty soon went viral and rightly angered several people in the Kingdom.

“Poor animals, they deserve correct transportation and slaughter. It’s fine to follow tradition but do it humanely,” said another. “It is against the rules of Islam regarding Qurbani to cause distress upon the animal. According to Hadith, the animals should be treated kindly and all of their needs should be taken care of. It is even said that other animals should not witness each others being slaughtered to avoid mental anguish. When they are slaughtered it should be done in a way that allows the animal to die quickly, experiencing the least pain,” said Ahmed Khan an avid observer of Qurbani (sacrifice of a livestock animal during Eid al-Adha).

“Ill-treatment of an animal before slaughter is prohibited in Islam. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was recorded as saying in an Authentic Hadees, “God has ordained kindness (and excellence) in everything.  If the killing (of animals) is to be done, do it in the best manner, and when you slaughter, do it in the best manner by first sharpening the knife, and putting the animal at ease,” he added.
