With annual volume of trade exceeding $10 billion, the brotherly nation of Saudi Arabia is one of the leading trading partners of the Kingdom. It stands first among Arab countries when it comes to Foreign Direct Investment and the trade relations have been growing considerably over the past years.
In an exclusive interview with our sister paper Al Ayam, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Dr Abdulla Bin Abdulmalik Al Sheikh said many infrastructure projects including the GCC rail network and King Hamad Causeway are going to further boost the economic ties between both countries.
Excerpts:
Your Excellency, could you tell us about the growing trade relations between both nations? Saudi Arabia is one of Bahrain’s leading trade partners. There is no single sector where both nations are not co-operating and increasing Saudi investments in the Kingdom bears testimony to this. The annual volume of trade between both nations exceeds $10 bn and is on the growth track. Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry are in constant contact to promote economic relations.
