Work on 41,199 public housing units underway
The Housing Ministry is currently constructing 41,199 housing units and apartments across five new cities, according to a copy of a survey done by the ministry, which was obtained by Tribune.
The ministry is currently building 7,779 houses and 700 apartments in Sanad, Juffair, Dorrat al Bahrain, Sitra, Tubli, Umm Al Hassam, Busaiteen, Ramli, Horat Sanad, Haniniyah, Buhair, Askar, Hejiyat and Henainiya. In addition, the ministry is building five new housing towns providing 32,720 housing units in various governorates.
The projects will include the construction of 4,000 housing units in eastern Sitra and in the capital. Construction of 4,500 units is on track in Eastern Hidd, in the Muharraq Governorate, and the construction of 15,000 units is underway in the Salman Town, in the northern province. The ministry is also building a town in eastern Hidd, which will include 4,500 housing units in the Muharraq Governorate, and Khalifa Town in the southern province, which will include 5,500 housing units.
