Teenager on trial for spate of thefts
A Bahraini teenager is set to face trial for committing several thefts. The 18-year-old defendant began his theft spree by stealing a wallet and he used an ID card inside it to purchase a smartphone from a local mall, according to court documents.
“He later went to the same shop and sold the smartphone there while stealing another smartphone from the shop,” it added. It was the shop owner who reported the incident to the police.
The shop owner had initially presented to police officers a copy of the ID under which the phone was purchased. And officers summoned the holder of the ID, who revealed to them that his wallet along with the ID was stolen by a stranger.
