Three years jail for gang accused of stealing cars

After facing difficulties in selling robbed cars, a car theft gang introduced an innovative robbery method, where they were disassembling vehicles and their parts, it was revealed.

The gang was eventually held thanks to security cameras installed across the Kingdom’s roads. This was disclosed by a detective, who was in charge of investigating their case, during the court hearing of the gang members. “We received several complaints about stolen cars at Hidd Police Station.

We reviewed security cameras close to the area and saw one of the reported vehicles on a tow car heading towards Isa Town. We noted the registration number of the tow car. “Thus, we arrested the owner who uncovered to us that there were other three men helping him,” the officer explained to judges at the High Appeals Court. According to court files, the gang’s activities lasted for two years, from 2017-2018, during which they stole several cars from all around Bahrain.
