Man files appeal against removing son’s travel ban
The High Sharia Appeals Court yesterday decided to hear on September 4, 2018, a Bahraini man’s appeal against the decision of the Lower Sharia Court to remove the travel ban imposed on his son.
The boy was earlier denied travelling abroad upon the request of his Bahrain father who is afraid that his Arab wife would leave the kingdom once he is allowed to leave. However, the Lower Sharia Court ruled out that the mother has such an intent. She is said to have been wanting to travel to visit her family with him and hence she filed a lawsuit to have the travel ban removed, it observed.
“My client had a baby from her husband in 2013. The latter managed to get a travel ban secured against the kid since three years ago as he was objecting him visiting his wife’s family in an Arab country,” the lawyer of the kid’s mother said. “Therefore, she decided to file a lawsuit to have the travel ban removed temporarily so she can visit them with the child,” Huda Al Sa’ad added.
According to the lawyer, her client has never thought of leaving Bahrain for good with the child, stating that she had already travelled with him and returned only. “My client was ready to provide any kind of guarantee to confirm her good faith because she wants to visit her ill mother with her child,” she continued.
