Ten years jail for Saudi drug lord
The High Criminal Court has sentenced a Saudi drug lord to 10 years behind bars and fined him BD5,000 for peddling hashish in the Kingdom. The defendant was held in a special operation which was carried out by police officers after receiving a tip-off.
The defendant was lured into selling drugs by an undercover agent, who requested to buy from him BD4,000 worth drugs. “I received a call from a stranger who offered to buy drugs from me.
I agreed to meet him in Manama besides a pharmacy,” the Saudi man said. The undercover agent paid the defendant BD20 and the rest was 1000 Iraqi dinars (around 300 fils), according to court files. The money was found in the trash in his apartment when officers arrested him.
