Anchorman wins plea in insult case
A local anchorman convicted of insulting a former MP has been acquitted following a successful appeal against a two month’s jail sentence.
The defendant, aged 53, was held guilty earlier for allegedly insulting exMP Mohammed Khalid on his Twitter account.
The case was filed against the defendant by the former MP himself, but at that time it was lodged against an anonymous individual because the Twitter account’s profile indicated a fake person.
