London protesters "hired for 50 pounds a day"

Ali Mushaima who has been protesting outside the Bahrain Embassy in the UK demanding the release of his father Hassan Mushaima, has been hiring protesters by paying 50 British pounds per day, a Bahraini activist in London revealed.

Hassan Mushaima, convicted of terror charges, is serving his sentence in the Kingdom. Ali along with a group has been holding protests outside the Bahrain Embassy in London for a few weeks now. The protesters are also accused of blocking visitors to the embassy as well as bothering passers-by.

Last week, the Bahrain Embassy asked the British Government to keep the protesters under control. “There are many Pakistanis and Iranians here who wear protesters’ caps after receiving money. Ali has groups of such individuals, who are staging a sitin on the road leading to the embassy,” the activist told Tribune.

He said there are strong doubts over Iranian support to the ongoing protest as the regime is known for promoting such activities. “There are groups of Pakistanis and Iranians here, who can be hired for protests and Ali is doing the same thing,” he alleged. Speaking to Tribune, Dina Al Lazi, head of the Manama Centre for Human Rights, said, “Since the protest began outside the embassy, we have been contacting authorities in the Kingdom to know about Hassan Mushaima’s health status.
