Suspected fake bombers plead not guilty in court
Three men accused of planting a fake bomb pleaded not guilty yesterday before the High Criminal Court. The trio is said to have planted a mock device in A’ali on July 17, 2018.
According to court documents, the first defendant, aged 20, was arrested after DNA samples extracted from the scene were found to be matching. He admitted before prosecutors that he made the fake bomb with the help of his co-defendants, stating that they wanted to trigger fears among people living in A’ali by their act.
“We wanted to disturb public order and send fear among people living there, therefore we made the device,” the 20-year-old defendant said.
