On a mission to support reform

Manama : Jihad Jafar Almo’men, a teacher of physical education at the Ministry of Education, confirmed that he will run for the next Council of Representatives elections from the 4th constituency of Northern Governorate. Almo’men said that his candidacy is a mission to support the reform project of His Majesty the King. He said he is working on an integrated electoral programme to serve the needs of the people of the constituency and the citizens as a whole.

The priority, he said, will be on reducing unemployment by creating suitable job opportunities for graduates. An equal focus will be placed on issues including housing and education among others. Besides, working on a law allowing parliamentarian a 60 per cent quota to nominate candidates in job allocation, he said he aims to protect the rights of retirees and women.

Almo’men explained that the Council’s past performance was not satisfactory with many decisions still pending on youth affairs and women’s support. He hopes that things will get better with many young people joining the Council of Representatives. Almo’men urged voter to participate in the electoral process and choose the most efficient candidate. “I am very sure that the performance of the next Council will be, better than the current -with God’s will,” he said.
