‘More legislations needed to support privatisation efforts’
More legislations are needed to support the country’s globalisation and privatisation efforts, according to economist and political analyst Dr Yousef Mashal.
Lawmakers should consider adding more legislations that would promote flow of FDI into the private and public sector, said Dr Mashal.
He said that legislation related to privatisation are vague and needs to be updated with new laws. “We need to advance further with globalisation and increase FDI. One way to do that is by privatisation. We do not have enough legislation when it comes to privatisation.
“Steps are being taken now but they are small, we need to do more. There are privatisations measures taken for small services like testing of cars in the traffic department and the driving schools which is good but it should also be done in bigger areas.
