Telling tales of legendary artists using colours!

Pakistani born, Bahrain resident Sana Asad is a mixed media artist who has been inspiring many artists in the Kingdom with her art community ‘Wild About Art and Craft’. Sana, who is currently running a successful programme ‘Meet the Masters Around The World’ aims to inspire budding artists by conveying the stories of legendary artists from across the world. Speaking to Tribune, Sana said, “I was born and brought up in Pakistan, and I am currently living in Bahrain with my husband and four children. I’m a fashion designer turned art educator.

In 2010 I turned my passion for designing dresses into teaching art and I’m loving every minute of it. “I started creating my own mixed media paintings in 2015 inspired by many artists, where I relished creating whimsical faces with layers. I deeply believe that you paint what you need the most in your life. I consider myself a storyteller where I use color instead of words. “The entire idea of playing with colors and follow all the latest trends always fascinated me.

I am continually looking for inspiration everywhere and finding ways to incorporate it into my style. As a mixed media artist, I enjoy being creative with paints, inks, pens, markers.” “As an art educator, I designed a course for children from age 7 to 9 years and 10+ and teens where they will be learning about art, history and its techniques. ‘Meet the Masters Around The World’ is a monthly based lesson where each month I will be introducing one artist to the students.
