Asian man ‘who ran car over his friend’ pleads not guilty
An Asian man accused of killing his friend by running car over him pleaded not guilty to murder charge before the court yesterday. The incident happened on February 8, 2018 and it was initially considered a hit-and-run accident.
But further investigations into the case found that the 32-year-old man had deliberately run over the victim who was riding a motorcycle in an effort to kill him, according to court sources.
The victim died, succumbing to serious injuries, including a lower-body paralysis, fractured ribs and a buildup of fluid around the lungs.
The 32-year-old suspect was initially questioned and detained for 24 hours after the accident before he was released as the victim wasn’t able to speak. Police officers suspected that there was a criminal motive behind the accident, although the defendant said that he fled the scene because he wasn’t accustomed to dealing with these kind of situations.
