Social organisations step up efforts to tackle rising suicides among expats
A good number of this year’s suicide cases could have been prevented had the victims approached authorities or social or charity organisations for help, according to social workers.
The rate of suicide among expatriates has seen an alarming rise this year and many leading social workers are urging the expatriate community members to seek help if they are struggling with any issues.
The expats in Bahrain experiencing depression, anxiety or financial issues have been urged to seek help from relevant authorities as many of the issues they are facing could be resolved with such outside help, social workers said.
According to them most expatriates who have committed suicide this year had not approached authorities for help.
