Supreme Council highlights Bahraini women’s progress
Manama : The Supreme Council of Women (SCW)’s Secretary-general Hala Al Ansari has held a meeting with Claire Joyride the Secretary-general of the French High Council for Equality between Men and Women in the presence of Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Bahrain’s Ambassador to Belgium Dr. Bahia Al Jishi.
Al Ansari highlighted the SCW’s progressive strategies, efforts and initiatives led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty, and its adoption of the best international practices and standards in terms of gender equality and equal opportunity. She cited Bahraini experience in this field that grants an international dimension to it and qualifies the Kingdom to enter into reciprocal partnership with international institutions.
Al Ansari briefed the progress of women since the inception of SCW, the National Strategy for Revitalisation of Bahraini Women launched in partnership with the community, the inclusion of women in the Government Action Plan and the National Model for Inclusion of Women Needs in Sustainable Development which led to accelerating the progress of women and bridging the gap in various fields, including health and education.
