All-women car rally, photo expo on October 19

Manama : ‘Yalla Banat’, a non-profit women’s initiative, will hold an all-women car and bike rally at the Bahrain International Circuit on October 19 with the slogan “Women in Driver’s Seat’.  A photography exhibition will also be held on the sidelines of the expo highlighting the achievements of women in the region. The ‘Yalla Banat’ initiative seeks to share the success stories of women across the Middle East, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of women achievers.

“The event will make history with the momentum picking up every day and the buzz across all networks sounding calls to celebrate and empower,  ‘Women in the Driver’s Seat ‘,” Martyna Al-Qassab, Founder & Managing Director, ‘Yalla Banat’ told Tribune. “The goal of the show is to build a global momentum by highlighting the success of the women of today and inspire the next generation of female innovators and achievers from across the Middle East region,” she said. Participants in the ‘Yalla Banat’ photography competition can post photographs tagging @yallabanat_bahrain and #yallabanat. Photographs from across the world are welcomed. Individual creative expressions with cars in the frame will be ideal. This is to promote the ‘Yalla Banat’ slogan, ‘Women in the Driver’s Seat ‘.” 

“Everyone is welcome to submit their photographs. A panel of judges consisting of Artist Aysha AlMoayyed, pioneer female photographer Deyana Ahmedi and award-winning photographer Hamed Mohamed will shortlist the top 6 photographs, which will then be voted by the public. Winners of the competition will be awarded at the venue of Yalla Banat event on October 19,” she said.
