NATO ties in spotlight Dr Shaikh Abdulla alerts NATO official over Iran threats to the region
The evolving relations between the Kingdom and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) were under spotlight yesterday as the organization’s Deputy Secretary-General Rose Gottemoeller received the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, at her office in Brussels.
During the meeting, Ms Gottemoeller stressed the importance of exchanging high-level visits in order to enhance relations between the two sides and exchange views on the challenges facing the region.
The Undersecretary expressed his pride in the evolving relations between the Kingdom and the NATO alliance, noting its development and coordination within the framework of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) that aims to contribute to the sovereignty of regional security.
He also praised the great efforts of the alliance in the maintenance of international peace and security.
