Bahraini man forges sales forms to seize ex-wife’s cars
A Bahraini man forged a sales form with an aim to seize his ex-wife’s cars, the court heard. The couple got divorced in 2016 and the husband took revenge by seizing her cars that were parked at his compound.
He allegedly forged sales forms to prove his ownership over the cars. “I discovered later that the ownership of cars was transferred to his name. The first car was purchased by me in 2012, but the second one was gifted to me by him. But after I got my divorce, I discovered that both cars were no longer owned by me,” the woman told prosecutors.
“The traffic officers summoned me to cross-check the sales forms which were submitted to them and my signatures on the papers were counterfeit,” she added. “The cars’ ownership was changed without my approval and my knowledge,” she said in the complaint.
A handwriting expert confirmed that the signatures on the forms weren’t the woman’s and they were forged. Therefore, the Bahraini man was put on trial before the High Criminal Court on forgery charges.
