Foreign minister heads to New York for UNGA 73

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom to actively participate in the meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UNGA 73).

This came as he headed to New York, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and state institutions, to participate in UNGA 73, to be held under the theme of “Making the United Nations relevant to all people: global leadership and shared responsibilities for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies”.

The kingdom’s participation is in line with its established policy of openness and cooperation with the world and the United Nations and in support of the international efforts seeking a more stable and prosperous world at all security, political and economic levels.

The UNGA 23 will address the most important issues and developments in the international arena and their repercussions and effects on all countries of the world. Elaborating on UNGA 73, the minister said the meetings constitute an important opportunity to discuss means of intensifying international cooperation and seeking sustainable solutions to the crises and problems facing the international community.
