Several key members of the Indian community were present during the meeting which was held at Park Rejis Hotel yesterday. Organisers said that around 100 people attended. The ideas from the brainstorming session, which a number of experts, technocrats, engineers, businessmen and social activists attended, will be presented to the Kerala Chief Minister as well as to an Indian Ministerial committee that is visiting the GCC next month, Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam president P V Radhakrishna Pillai told Tribune. “Kerala faced a devastating flood last month, something we have not seen in the last century. Indians across the globe are trying to help to rebuild Kerala.

This meeting is primarily to discuss how to rebuild Kerala and so experts, technocrats, engineers, businessmen and social activists were invited to this session to discuss how we can rebuild Kerala, how we can mobilize resources for rebuilding Kerala,” he said.

“Kerala has lost a lot, many of the bridges, infrastructure etc. This is a coming together to discuss how technology and resources can be mobilized to rebuild Kerala. There is an open appeal from the Chief Minister of Kerala to donate funds, so anyone can send money to the chief minister’s fund in their own capacity. “We have very good examples here such as with Dr Ravi Pillai donating five crore rupees, many other as well has donated large amounts which is encouraging to see,” he added.
