Prominent businessman mourned

Tolaram Narsingdas Kavalani, the Chairman of Kavalani and Sons passed away on Thursday at the age of 91. One of the pillars of Thattai Hindu community – one of the earliest expatriate communities to settle in Bahrain, Mr Kavalani was highly respected and venerated for his leadership and wisdom. He arrived in Bahrain in 1928, two years after his birth to live with his father, making Bahrain his home.

His great-grandfather, Kavalmal Kavalani had established a fruitful relationship with the Al Khalifa family since 1850, which he continued to maintain and nurture. Alongside his numerous social responsibilities, he was the past president of the Thattai Hindu Merchants Community, one of the oldest expatriate business associations in the Kingdom.
