Youth harbingers of growth: Minister

Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder yesterday said that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s bright young people were harbingers of growth, development, prosperity and advancement of the society in harmony with the reforms led by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Minister said substantial development had been accomplished through the policies charted by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Charity Works, Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) for the welfare of youth.

Commenting that youth constituted the majority of the Kingdom’s population, he lauded the remarkable place of youth as one of the key pillars of the auspicious reign of His Majesty the King.

Al Jowder said that the Royal directives to national youth to join the march of building constitute the guidelines for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the General Organisation of Youth and Sports (GOYS) in the implementation of the strategies to engage youth in the community, civil institutions, national clubs, societies, centres, and professional associations in addition to voluntary contribution by youth during the elections of the Council of Representatives and municipal councils.
