Turkish man, Filipino girlfriend sentenced for aborting baby
A 41-year-old Turkish man and his 37-year-old Filipino girlfriend were sentenced for aborting their baby. According to court details, they were arrested after the manager at a local salon, where the Filipino woman worked, informed police about the abortion. The procedure was carried out by the couple without any medical help as it is illegal in the Kingdom.
“She had requested me for a few days leave, which I dismissed. One day she sent me a horrible image showing blood stains all over her body. “She told me that she was pregnant and extricated the fetus after consuming some tablets and her boyfriend aided in the act. I immediately reported it to the police,” the salon manager told prosecutors.
The man and the woman were immediately arrested by police and put on trial after being charged with abortion.
The pair first met three years ago at a nightclub in Manama and would soon develop a courtship, which later graduated into a relationship, according to prosecutors.
